World Poker Tournaments give professional players
advantages
of using their ace knowledge and encourage beginners to reach
new and higher poker peaks. There are no ambitious player who has never
dreamed of participating in one of the most famous world poker
tournaments. Such a player is not after the path of least
resistance, such a player is after world fame and poker tournament
prizes.
But what are world poker tournaments? Actually there are two world
known ones. They are the renowned World poker tour
and the World Series of Poker or WSOP. The former is pretty young, it
was given birth in 2002. Though the latter can be easily
called a
poker veteran, it was started almost forty years ago. But the two world
poker tournaments are held (guess, where?) in Las Vegas, Nevada, the
capital of international gambling. The World Series of Poker
traditionally takes place in Horseshoe Casino. The greatest prize was
got in 2006 and it amounted to $12,000,000. At the beginning the two
championships sprang up as American, but later they became aired
outside of the US and got the status of world poker tournaments.
Europe has as well made its contribution to the list of international
poker events. In 2000 a new project of Poker Million started right in
the center of British Isles and has now become the heart of European
poker tournament. The biggest prize of $1,200,000 was won in 2006 by
Rajesh Modha.
Actually almost every continent has its poker tournament. As for Africa
the event is known as All Africa poker tournament and it is in Piggs
Peak. Australia doesn't want to fall behind America, Africa
and
Europe and has founded its Aussie Millions. But it hasn't
broaden
its scope to the level of other world poker tournaments. But only time
will tell what popular championships will manage to get an
international standing.
